Description
The cochineal red field hosts vigorous spiral vinery corners, and displays a sapphire blue medallion with more volute edging. Central ivory octofoil sub medallion with radiating palmettes. Ecru border with cypresses reversing weeping willows. The trade uses "Lavar" to refer to any finely woven antique SE Persian Kerman city carpet. Kermans are best known for their dense patterning, wide color palettes and superb execution. Cotton foundation, fine weave. Good condition.
