Description
This â€œHajji Jalili" type Tabriz carpet shows a cream field decorated with swooping racemes around a roundish lobed red medallion enclosing a goldenrod sub-medallion. The extended corners mimic the medallion in quarter form. The near black main border shows an alternation of cartouches and octogrammes. The carpet is well to finely woven on cotton. A well-drawn, well-balanced city carpet.
