Description
Strictly for the wall, this extremely finely knotted, all silk Turkish Hereke creation, shows a niche design outlined in cream on a pale green field, with a central vigourous â€œtree of life". Red and yellow rectangular botehs in the border. Design taken from rustic Kirsehir prayer rugs from central Anatolia. Long silk fringes. Probably from the early 1960' x s when the craft was revitalised in Hereke in NW Turkey.
