Carl Auböck Nickel-Plated Ice Bucket and Tongs, Stamped, Brass, Austria, 1950s

Sold Sold
  • Description
A Mid-Century Modern ice bucket with matching tongs (Model 3703), designed and crafted by Werkstätte Carl Auböck in Vienna during the 1950s. Made of nickel-plated brass with handwoven rattan (wicker / cane), it reflects Auböck's design philosophy: a harmonious balance of practical functionality and timeless elegance. The woven rattan is in impeccable original condition. The nickel-plated surfaces show only light, insignificant signs of age and use. The tongs display a minor area of nickel wear where the underlying brass is visible. Rather than considering this a flaw, we see it as a charming testament to the set's authentic history and character. Both the ice bucket and the tongs are signed and stamped "Auböck Made in Austria.“ Overall, the set is in very good original condition.
