Carl Aubock 6 Forks with Leather Holder, Corn Cob Skewers #3679, Vienna, 1930s

$ 950
  • Description
    A set of six small forks with a leather holster, model no. 3679, designed by Carl Auböck and executed by Werkstätte Carl Auböck, Vienna. Originally conceived in the 1930s, this model represents one of Auböck's early designs.; we think the present set was manufactured in the 1950s. Originally designed as corn cob skewers or holders—a wonderfully practical idea—these small forks can also be used in a variety of ways at the dining table, for example for serving fruit, cheese, and other small delicacies. The forks are crafted from solid brass with a nickel-plated finish and feature handles wrapped in raffia/rattan. The set is housed in its original saddle-stitched leather holster, executed in a medium-brown leather. The forks have a pleasing weight and tactile quality, sitting comfortably in the hand. Very good condition.

    Measurements: width: 8“, height 3.5“, the forks are 3.5“ long.
