Description
Dynamic and richly textured original oil on canvas by American artist Sharon Cannon, titled Giverny II. This striking contemporary abstract composition is alive with layered passages of magenta, lavender, ochre, saffron, coral, and moss green, creating a luminous field of movement and depth. Executed with Cannon’s signature tactile process using palette knives, rags, and hand-worked applications, the surface reveals dramatic impasto texture and a highly sophisticated painterly energy.
Created from the artist’s Los Angeles studio, Giverny II reflects Cannon’s intuitive and evolving approach to abstraction—building, scraping, revising, and rediscovering the canvas until harmony is achieved. The title references Monet’s famed gardens at Giverny, evoking florals, atmosphere, and shifting natural light through a thoroughly modern lens.
A versatile statement work that can be displayed vertically or horizontally, ideal for contemporary, modernist, transitional, Hollywood Regency, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, or curated designer interiors. Excellent for collectors seeking original American abstract art, colorful large-scale paintings, and investment-quality wall décor.
Signed by the artist and titled verso.
