Beautiful 1940s Chinese four-panel lacquered screen featuring a courtyard scene of women engaged in leisurely activities on one side, and colorful birds and foliage on the other side. The panels are lacquered, with soft pastel color pigments, inlayed with carved coloured hardstones that stand out against the black lacquer. The bottom of each panel is decorated with fruits. Supported by straight legs ending with brass clad feet. It is found in a great vintage condition. Each panel measures H 72.45 inches x W 16.15 inches.
