    This very rare pair of large-scale table lamps was designed by Aldo Londi and produced by Bitossi in Italy for the Swedish company Luxus Vittsjö in the 1970s.

    The bases are ceramic, in a gold glaze with a rich, textured surface that shows the material beneath, rather than a flat, uniform shine. The shape is bulbous and substantial, with a generous rounded body set on a solid, weighted base. The scale is impressive, making the lamps a real presence in a room. The linen textured fabric of the renewed cylinder shaped shades balance the richness of the gold with a soft, neutral tone.

    The pair is in very good condition with updated 220V wiring and renewed E26/E27 bulb fittings, as well as new shades.
