Rare Set of Four Brass and Frosted Glass Sconces by Arredoluce

Each sconce features a sculptural frosted glass shade with a softly flared rim, supported by an elegant hourglass-shaped brass fitting. The shade rises above a slender vertically ribbed brass stem, which extends below the circular wall plate to create the distinctive elongated profile of the design.

The brass construction incorporates contrasting textures and forms, including the finely ribbed vertical stem, smooth horizontal arm, circular wall plate and sculptural shade support. The warm, rich naturally aged patina of the brass complements the softly diffused light of the frosted glass.

The sconces are particularly striking as a complete set of four and may also be installed as two matching pairs. Their restrained geometry, refined proportions and combination of brass and frosted glass are characteristic of Angelo Lelii's sophisticated lighting designs for Arredoluce during the 1950s.
