Description
This striking table lamp was produced by Bergboms in Sweden in the 1950s. This particular model is numbered B-131. The lamp is labeled with both Bergboms and the model number on the bottom of the base. The base is marked by the two brass vertical rods. The centred one is attached to the circular foot and has a decorative finial top detail. The second rod is attached via two horizontal brass bars and can be adjusted into different heights. The clever construction and beautiful execution in brass give the design a refined and architectonic appearance. The slightly tapered shade has been renewed in a white/ivory linen textured fabric. The natural, textured feel of the shade contrasts nicely with the gold hue of the brass. The lamp is in very good original condition, currently with a 220V European plug. The switch is located on the lamp socket, below the shade holder.
