A pair of limited edition table lamps designed by Birger Kaipiainen for the Stockmann 120 year anniversary in 1982. Manufactured by Arabia OY in Finland. A very nice pair in impeccable original condition. Only 150 pieces of these lamps were ever made, and these two are numbers 87 and 128, both are marked. Featuring one of his singnature designs, with these lamps you simply cannot go wrong. Suitable for livingrooms, bedrooms offices etc. This pair has even the original shades with matching ribbons.

Birger Kaipiainen (1915-1988) was a master of decorative ceramics. He was especially known for his ornamental dishes, rich, colorful and with themes from the fantasy world and fairytales, which fought against the idealism of minimalism in the 1950s. Kaipiainen was the leading man in ceramics in mid century Finland. He had a long career as a designer for Arabia Oy.
