Description
A wall-mounted sconce featuring a disk-shaped, hand-blown glass shade supported by a cylindrical brass bracket. The glass transitions between semi-transparent and opaque milk glass, creating a diffused light effect when illuminated. The fixture is secured to a circular brass wall plate. This design utilizes a blend of textures and materials characteristic of mid-century Belgian lighting production.
Boulanger (S.A. Boulanger) was a prominent Belgian lighting manufacturer based in Liège, active primarily during the mid-20th century. The company is well-regarded for producing high-quality fixtures that combined modernist forms with traditional materials like brass and hand-blown glass. They are frequently associated with the distribution and production of designs often attributed to Gaetano Sciolari, helping define the "Hollywood Regency" and Mid-Century Modern aesthetic in Europe during the 1960s and 1970s. -
