Designed in 1984 by Dutch designer Edy ten Berge, the "King" floor lamp is a minimalist fixture featuring a hand-bent transparent acrylic tube. The slender tube arches to direct light downward, creating an architectural gesture that appears to float above its weighted base. This design was awarded the Benelux industrial design prize shortly after its introduction. It serves as a refined example of late-20th-century functionalist lighting.
