Description
This elegant pair of ceramic table lamps was designed by Einar Johansen and produced by Søholm Stentøj in Denmark during the 1960s. Each lamp is impressed with the manufacturer’s mark and model number 1060 on the underside of the base.
The stoneware bases feature a beautifully balanced, flared form — wider at the center and tapering gracefully toward both the top and bottom — giving the lamps a sculptural, organic presence. The glossy glaze displays Søholm’s signature palette of deep cobalt and indigo blues blending into rich plum and chestnut tones, with subtle greenish undertones near the neck. These hues flow together fluidly, creating a layered gradient effect that shifts beautifully with the light.
The lamps are complemented by new conical shades in matte ivory fabric. Their tall, minimalist silhouette provides a refined contrast to the expressive ceramic bases.
Each lamp has been rewired and fitted with a standard E26/E27 bulb socket and a 220V European plug. Both are in very good condition, with new shades and updated wiring.
Specified dimensions:
Total height including shade: 47 cm / 18.5 in
Height of the base only (excluding shade): 25 cm / 9.8 in
Diameter of the shade: 20 cm / 7.9 in
Diameter of the base: 17 cm / 6.7 in (measured at the widest point) -
