Description
This exceptionally rare table lamp was designed by Hans Bergström and produced by Ateljé Lyktan in Sweden in the 1960s. This model, numbered 762, is one of the few designs by Bergström where the base was entirely executed in solid wood. The lamp is marked with 762 and 'Ek' (Swedish for Oak) on the bottom of the base.
The design is marked by its sculptural form in solid oak wood, consisting of rounded disc-shaped elements of varying thickness. The oak wood features an attractive, warm grain. The cylinder, drum-shaped shade has been renewed in an ivory linen-textured fabric. The lamp's generous size and distinct shape give it a striking presence.
The lamp is in very good condition, the wood with a beautiful, even patina. The custom shade and wiring renewed. The lamp is currently with a 220V European plug and the fitting uses a standard E26/E27 light bulb. -
