Description
"Model 3821" floor lamp designed by Enrique Franch for the Spanish manufacturer Metalarte. The design features a telescoping structure. The metallic grey mushroom shade is equipped with a white acrylic diffuser to provide soft, even distribution from three E27 light sources. This example is finished in the metallic grey colorway and is accompanied by its rare original period packaging.
Enric (Enrique) Franch Miret (1943–2024) was an influential Catalan industrial designer and educator. Best known for his collaboration with Metalarte between 1969 and 1979, his "Calder" lamp (1974) was the first Spanish design to enter the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Franch's work is characterized by a rigorous intellectual approach to functionalism and formal innovation. -
