Pair of Large 1950s Italian Brass and Opaline Glass Wall Sconces
-
Description
This pair of large Italian wall sconces from the 1950s combines softly curved opaline glass shades with slender brass arms for a refined mid-century presence. Each lamp features an elongated, gently angled arm that projects from a round brass wall plate, leading to an oversized egg-shaped opaline glass shade that provides a diffused, atmospheric light. The brass surfaces show a warm, even patina with light marks consistent with age, which enhances the character of the piece without distracting from its clean, modern lines.
The circular backplates measure approximately 12 cm (about 4.72 in) in diameter, giving the sconces a generous scale that works well beside a bed, framing a mirror, or flanking a doorway.
Both sconces are fitted with standard E14 sockets, suitable for use in Europe as well as in the United States and Canada . -
