1950s Italian Chandelier by Stilnovo in Brass, Black Enamel, and Opaline Glass
-
Description
Original chandelier produced in Italy during the 1950s by Stilnovo, a rare and highly valuable piece of mid-century lighting design.
The structure is composed of a circular brass frame suspended by four black enamelled steel rods, supporting eight spherical opaline glass diffusers. Each globe is partially encased in a brass hemisphere with a perforated black metal underside, combining transparency and reflection in a precise balance of materials. The geometric arrangement of the shades around the brass ring enhances the chandelier’s architectural presence, while the opaline glass provides diffused, even illumination. At times, one comes across works of craftsmanship and design that stand apart, such as this remarkable example of Italian modern lighting.
The chandelier retains its original wiring, tested and in working condition, and can be used both in Europe and in the United States. It accommodates eight standard E14 bulbs. -
