Description
This rare table lamp was designed by Sven Wejsfelt and produced by Gustavsberg Studio in Sweden in the 1960s. The lamp is marked with the maker's name SWEN on the bottom of the base, as well as the Gustavsberg Studio Hand inscription.
The design features aeramic base with a wide cylindrical bottom that tapers smoothly into a narrow, bottle-shaped neck. The textured glazed finish with a speckled surface gives the lamp a refined depth. The colors blend from deep reddish-brown at the base into darker charcoal and bronze tones, and lightening to a soft gray near the neck. The empire shaped shade is a custom design made from an ivory colored Métaphores fabric. The finely textured textile provides a refined, neutral contrast while offering a soft and even light distribution.
The lamp is in very good condition, with updated 220V European wiring and a standard E26/E27 bulb fitting.
