Midcentury Italian Modernist Large Etched Glass Brass Mirror

Elegant mid-century Italian large wall mirror in brass with etched floral mirrored glass and decorative brass ring elements, Italy, 1950s.

The tall shaped mirror features softly rounded corners and gently tapering sides, with subtly curved upper and lower edges enclosed within a slender brass frame. Decorative brass ring elements extend from the top and bottom, adding a distinctive sculptural detail to the otherwise restrained form.

The original mirror plate is particularly attractive, with delicate etched floral decoration arranged around its perimeter. The etched border follows the contours of the glass and complements the decorative brass elements without overwhelming the clean proportions of the design.

The brass retains a rich natural patina, while the original etched mirror plate shows only minimal age-related foxing. The mirror retains its original wood backing.
