Description
A Modernist armchair made of oak with a webbed leather seating and a fabric backrest, attributed to Adolf Loos and Heinrich Kulka (Loos’s closest assistent).
Loos used different versions of this model for various projects, like the apartments of Hugo Semler and Josef Vogl (both in Plze?), Villa Müller in Prague and Landhaus Khuner in Payerbach, Austria. Kulka also used versions of this chair in some of his projects, for example House no. 49 in the Werkbundsiedlung in Vienna, before his emigration to New Zealand. Adolf Loos (1870 - 1933) was an Austrian architect and theorist. Jind?ich (Heinrich) Kulka (1900 - 1971) was a Moravian architect. - More Information
