Description
Sublime pair of armchairs designed by Léon Jallot in collaboration with his son Maurice in the 1930s. They will bring authenticity and refinement to your interior. The incredible patina shows the historical value of this authentic piece.
From 1921, Léon Jallot collaborated with his son Maurice. Together, they design a wide variety of furniture and furnishings. His furniture had simple lines and flat surfaces that were lacquered, painted, or covered with shagreen or leather. In the 1920s, they began to incorporate synthetic materials and metal into their work.
Léon Jallot is a master of carved woods and lacquers. His long mastery of both substrates has been cited and emphasis has been placed on the preservative effect of lacquer on untreated woods. The decorative panels and screens were carved in bas-relief with a variety of themes which were then set in polychrome lacquers on a gilded ground. These were produced in the mid-1930s. Léon Jallot retired in the 1940s, while his son Maurice Jallot continued the family business until 1950. - More Information
