Description
This bakery display rack, produced in France during the 1920s, reflects the refined craftsmanship typical of traditional shop fittings from the early twentieth century. The structure is composed of a forged iron frame with elegant curved uprights and delicate scroll elements, supported by small ball feet that provide both stability and visual lightness. Five oak shelves with softly rounded fronts introduce warmth and natural texture, their grain and patina contrasting beautifully with the cool, aged metal.
Originally conceived for the display of bread and pastries in a bakery interior, the rack combines practical functionality with a subtle decorative presence. Cross-bracing at the back reinforces the structure while maintaining an open and balanced composition. Today the piece lends itself equally well to displaying books, ceramics, or objects, retaining the quiet authenticity and character of its original commercial use. As with many historic shop fittings, signs of age are consistent with its working life. - More Information
