Large Art Deco Warehouse Counter In Oak, France 1930's
-
Description
This impressive counter could easily have served in a department store like Printemps in the 1920s and 1930s. With its many drawers and therefore considerable storage capacity, it is a practical eye-catcher drenched in the romantic appearance of Art Deco.DesignThe object is made of a colored oak that clearly shows a flame-shaped pattern. Over the years it has acquired a particularly warm patina. At the front there are four large drawers, each with two ornamented iron handles. The top left drawer has a smaller drawer that probably housed the cash register. A charming detail above reveals this, as it were, because the tray contains the old recess where one could put the coins. There also appear to be two drawers on the ends, but these are facades that have a purely aesthetic function to ensure a coherent appearance. Four drawers at the other side can be found with the same storage space as those at the front. A custom glass cover is included with this item. ConditionThe condition is entirely in accordance with age and use and this includes imperfections such as color differences.
