Pair of 1950s Italian Oak Bedside Tables with Gray-Green Back-Painted Glass Tops
-
Description
Matched bedside tables made in Italy in the 1950s. Frames are solid and veneered oak, conservatively restored to retain the original tone and light patina. Each piece features a three-sided gallery and a top in back-painted glass, finished on the reverse in a muted gray-green. The front houses a two-door cupboard with a shallow bowed apron; doors close on concealed hinges and carry small turned brass pulls. Tapered legs end in brass sabots. Joinery is dowelled, side panels are framed, and backs are finished for free standing.
