Description
Pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1950s, characterized by an elegant and well-balanced mid-century modern design. Each sconce features a slender, gently curved brass arm that extends from a circular wall plate in green lacquered brass, creating a refined contrast with the warm patina of the metal.
The light source is enclosed in an elongated opaline glass shade with tapered proportions, finished with brass caps at both ends. The opaline glass softly diffuses the light, producing a warm and even illumination while maintaining a clean, sculptural presence on the wall.
The wall plate measures 10 cm in diameter (approximately 3.94 inches), giving the sconces a compact yet visually structured appearance. The combination of brass, green lacquered brass, and opaline glass reflects the high-quality materials and thoughtful detailing typical of Italian lighting from the period.
The sconces are fitted with standard E14 sockets and are suitable for use in both European and US electrical systems.
The brass elements show a natural patina consistent with age, while the lacquered surfaces remain well preserved, with minor wear in keeping with original vintage condition. -
