Description
This exceptional counter-buffet / sideboard was designed by Paolo Buffa and produced by Mario Quarti in Milan, Italy in the mid 1940s.
The sideboard stands on four grooved, turned spiral legs in solid walnut with brass tips. The molded and edged top is in veneered walnut wood. The six front drawers are incised with an elongated bow shape and decorative cast brass handles. The elegant design is completed by the raised decorative panel in carved walnut wood, executed in the same braid pattern as the decorative incision in each drawer. The details, the materials and techniques used perfectly illustrate the high level of Mario Quarti's craftsmanship as well as the originality and elegance of Paolo Buffa's designs.
This piece is in good, restored condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and previous use. Please contact us for a full condition report. -
