Description
This rare pendant light was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his company in Markaryd, Sweden in the 1960s. This model was numbered T-603 and is part of his iconic fringe series. The lamp is marked with the manufacturer’s sticker placed on the inside of the canopy.
The design is marked by the brass ring frame with a stepped detail on top. There are five separate, tiered layers of golden yellow silk fringes. The light bulb is hidden underneath the fringes, giving off a warm, muted light — the kind of muted lighting that Jakobsson became known for.
Listed dimensions are of the fixture itself, the height is adjustable with the drop-down cable. The current drop-down cable is apr. 140 cm / 55.1 in long.
The lamp is in very good original condition, the brass with a natural patina and minimal wear. Fringes are full and untangled across all tiers. Fitted with one E27 socket. -
