Description
This elegant coffee table was designed by Bertil Söderberg in the mid 1930s. It was produced by the Swedish company Svensk Hemslöjd. The design is marked by the sculptural four legged base in solid elm wood. The top is in a rounded square shape and is veneered in a burl elm wood. The striking veneer placed in four segments has been placed mirrored which creates a very refined effect in combination with the distinct burl grain. The proportions make this a versatile piece, it can be used as a coffee table, a larger side table or as an occasional table. The table is in very good condition and has been restored. Literature reference: BOET, 1937, the model depicted in an interior, p. 202.
