Description
This French early Art deco vanity is attributed to Maurice Dufrene for La Maitrise, Les Galeries Lafayette arts décoratifs ateliers in Paris launched in 1922. This dressing table is completely veneered in various woods including amaranth, rosewood and sycamore, with the top, drawer and mirror part inlaid in radiating geometric and floral patterns. The level of craftsmanship and detail on this vanity is amazing. This unique piece has been fully restored and revarnished, and is in very good condition. The vanity top height is at 76 cms - 29.9 inches, and total height including the mirror is 139 cms - 54.7 inches. A similar vanity from Maurice Dufrene is displayed at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
