La Boutique Van Cleef & Arpels was established by Jacques and Pierre Arpels in 1954 to offer youthful and casual designs - in a limited series. Some were figural and others of abstract geometric design, often featuring colorful hardstones such as this ring. Bright green onyx, also known as chrysoprase, featured first in the Philippine ring, created in 1968. Numerous variations on the Philippine, as well as related ring designs such as this one, remain highly popular with collectors. -
