Macassar Executive Desk by Bodil Kjaer
-
Description
Bodil Kjaer designed the prototype for this impressive modernist desk in 1959 for the Massachusetts Institute Technology. This iteration of her work desk, a small reissue in 2007–9 by Hothouse Design Exchange, places a sumptuous case of beautiful Macassar ebony atop a linear brushed stainless-steel base. Each of the four drawers retains its original key. Kjaer's elegant design has appeared in numerous films, including several early James Bond productions.
Signed with the manufacturer's labels on the underside and inside drawer. The top case and the legs are crated separately. -
