Grandine 5 by Silvio Mondino Studio, Sculptural Italian Floor Lamp, Aged Brass

Grandine Five Lights is a Sculptural Italian Floor Lamp designed by Silvio Mondino Studio, inspired by the fleeting forms of hail.
Five Hand-Blown Glass orbs meet and merge into a single transparent composition, capturing the moment in which ice begins to melt and takes on a new, unexpected shape.
Each glass globe contains a concealed LED housed within the Brass rod. The light illuminates the globes from within and can be directed toward a wall, where it creates a captivating halo of light. While Grandine provides ambient illumination, its indirect light brings out the transparency of the glass and creates a particularly atmospheric effect.

The slender Brass structure gives the piece a precise vertical presence, contrasting with the organic character of the Hand-Blown Glass. The five globes gather around the rod in an arrangement that feels both carefully composed and naturally occurring, as though a fleeting fragment of weather had been suspended in space.
The tall, slender composition is balanced by a substantial Brass base, which acts as a solid counterweight. Weighing approximately 10 kg / 22 pounds, the base provides stability while allowing the lamp to retain its delicate, almost weightless appearance.

Designed as a floor-standing light, Grandine brings a sculptural point of light to a living room, entrance, reading area, or other considered corner of the home. Its presence remains expressive even when unlit, while the illuminated glass and reflected light create a softer character after dark.

Grandine brings together Machined Brass and Hand-Blown Glass, combining Contemporary Italian Design with Traditional Glassmaking Craftsmanship. Each piece is made in Italy, finished and assembled by hand in the Silvio Mondino Studio, and made to order, with custom finishes available.
