Trapezi 4 Sculptural Chandelier by Silvio Mondino Studio, Brushed Brass & Glass

Trapezi is a Sculptural Italian Chandelier designed by Silvio Mondino Studio, inspired by the suspended movement of a circus trapeze artist. Its elements appear to float freely in space, forming a fluid composition of rhythm, balance, and lightness.

Hand-Blown Glass and Brass elements form a fluid composition that reveals itself differently from every point of view. As perspective shifts, reflections move across the glass and light changes within it, giving Trapezi an ever-evolving presence.

The glass is composed through a carefully balanced combination of transparent and colored elements. Smooth and ribbed transparent glass is combined with colored glass decorated "Al Lustro", creating layers of transparency, color, and reflection within the composition. As the different elements overlap, their tones interact and create subtle gradations and unexpected depth, while the changing perspective continually reveals new nuances of color and light.

"Al Lustro" is a traditional Venetian technique in which gold and precious metals become part of the color of the glass. The transparency of the material is preserved, while the presence of gold creates luminosity and delicate reflections that become more visible as the light and perspective change.

Trapezi is conceived as a free composition, with elements, dimensions, and proportions that can be arranged to suit the architecture of each space. Standard configurations range from three to ten elements, while bespoke compositions can be developed to respond to the scale and character of individual interiors.

Hand-Blown Glass, Brass, and Linen come together in a composition where material, light, and space are carefully balanced. The slender suspended elements give the chandelier an architectural sense of lightness, while the changing reflections bring a subtle sense of movement to the surrounding space.

More than a source of illumination, Trapezi is a suspended composition of light, material, and space. Its fluid arrangement and changing reflections allow it to become part of the architecture, revealing a different character from every point of view.

Designed in Italy and finished and assembled by hand in the Silvio Mondino Studio, Trapezi is made to order, with custom configurations developed according to the requirements of each project.
