Description
Beautifully finished in silvered bronze, with an attenuated shape and
curving silhouette that reflects high style Art Deco in 1920s France,
this sophisticated and lovely chandelier is a rare survivor. The shape
and elegance of the chandelier shows the influence of Émile-Jacques
Ruhlmann and other designers whose work was featured at the Exposition
Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes
(International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts),
which later gave the Art Deco style its name. The chandelier features a
tassel pendant in silvered bronze, and the six arms emanate from a
central flower form. The top of the piece features an elaborate knot
form. The piece has been rewired for contemporary use. - More Information
