This wonderful Empire commode was created in 19th century France, circa 1830. Topped with its original marble top with gorgeous colors of charcoal, beige, and a touch of ochre and displaying rounded front corners. The apron houses a wide drawer with a simple large shield escutcheon plate. Similar escutcheons are found on the remaining three lower drawers which each feature a pair of highly decorative cast brass round pulls. No key is present for this piece. Recently cleaned and painted a washed sky blue that pairs well with the brass hardware. Columns flank the wide drawers and end on tall blocked feet giving this piece an impressive profile.
