Description
Late 17th century Catalan oak console table, or writing desk, from Spain. Hand-carved in oak circa 1680-1709. Constructed with mortise and tenon joints. Thick plank top resting upon a simple trestle base (early 1700's restoration to top). Original single drawer suspended under right side of its top. Originally functioned as a writing table or pay table, and now serves as a console, sofa table or writing desk.
