Description
This console and chair ensemble reflects the restrained elegance characteristic of mid-century Brazilian design, where proportion, material clarity, and functional precision define the composition. Executed in solid ivory-toned hardwood, the set demonstrates a disciplined approach to form, emphasizing slender geometry and structural lightness.
The console is articulated through a rectilinear top supported by tapered legs, creating a balanced silhouette that appears both stable and elevated. A single, slim drawer is seamlessly integrated beneath the surface, fitted with a restrained brass pull that introduces a subtle metallic accent without disrupting the overall clarity of the design. The joinery remains clean and purposeful, reinforcing durability while maintaining visual refinement.
The accompanying chair echoes the console’s lightness through its tapered legs and gently inclined backrest. The seat and back have been newly upholstered in soft light green leather, selected for its muted tone and tactile quality. The leather integrates naturally with the wood frame, absorbing comfort into the structure rather than serving as decoration.
Both pieces have been professionally refinished and remain in excellent vintage condition. Together, they articulate a cohesive vision of Brazilian modernism—where material integrity, measured proportion, and quiet craftsmanship define both form and function. -
