Description
An A. D. Copier Unica green glass vase for Glasfabriek Leerdam, circa 1926, formerly in the Meentwijck Collection.
The vase combines a broad, rounded body with pronounced vertical ribbing, a short neck and a gently flared rim. Its low, expansive proportions give it a balanced sculptural presence, while the ribs create a flowing rhythm around the body.
The translucent green glass reveals subtle variations in tone and visual texture. Light gathers along the raised contours and passes through the body, bringing depth to the colour and drawing attention to the relationship between form and material.
A distinctive acquisition for collectors of A. D. Copier, Leerdam art glass and Dutch Art Deco decorative arts. -
