Late Meiji / Early Taisho period (c. 1910) painting of life-size fruiting banana trees in a style that has a strong Western influence. This screen reminds us of 1920s Hollywood. Soft painting in mineral pigments on mulberry paper. Seal reads: Yoshoku.
