Description
Carlo Nason, born into a renowned Murano glassmaking family, brought innovation to Italian lighting. Collaborating with AV Mazzega, a company known for its craftsmanship since 1946, he created bold designs that blend tradition with modern aesthetics.
Design
This set of four LP 263 wall appliques reflects Nason’s structured approach to glass. Each fixture consists of four interlocking crystal plates with a tobacco-colored band, adding contrast and depth. The plates are secured to an aluminum backplate with two screws while their overlapping design enhances stability. A reflector lamp directs light towards the back, creating an ambient glow that highlights the textured surfaces of the glass. Light refracts through the clear and smoked elements, casting dynamic shadows and enhancing the fixture’s sculptural form. The contrast between smooth glass and raw edges gives each applique a refined yet organic appearance. Designed for versatility, these lights function both as wall and ceiling fixtures, making them adaptable to various interiors. Their modular composition allows for different configurations, whether installed individually or as a group.
Functional and striking, these appliques embody the craftsmanship of Nason and Mazzega. Their layered structure and diffused light create a sculptural presence that enhances any interior.
Condition
These are new old stock items so their condition is pristine. Please check the videos for a better representation of how the effect of light works on these lamps. -
