Description
Carlo Nason’s table lamp model LT 354, designed in the 1960s and produced by AV Mazzega, exemplifies mid-century modern design, blending clean lines with high-quality craftsmanship. Nason, renowned for his mastery of Murano glass, collaborated with AV Mazzega to create a piece that seamlessly combines artistry and functionality.
Design
Aesthetically, the LT 354 lamp stands out due to its elegant use of Murano glass. The base is a round, hand-blown piece, featuring a soft white swirl pattern diffused through the glass. This swirling effect gives the glass a sense of movement and depth, creating a unique visual texture that interacts beautifully with light. The glasswork extends to the shade, designed in a mushroom or half-dome shape that echoes the curves of the base. The shade, also crafted from Murano glass with the same white swirl pattern, diffuses light gently, creating a warm and soft glow that enhances any room. The combination of these glass elements gives the lamp an organic and fluid aesthetic while maintaining a clean, modern silhouette. The natural patterns in the glass ensure that each lamp is unique, with subtle variations in the swirl adding to its charm.Supporting these delicate glass elements is a metal patinated cylindrical stem, providing a sleek and sturdy contrast to the soft curves of the glass. Three minimalist metal arms extend from the stem to hold the shade securely in place, allowing the design to feel both airy and solid. The lamp features an E27 bulb fitting, offering versatility in lighting options.
Signed
A small AV Mazzega sticker affixed to the shade marks its authenticity.
Condition
The lamp remains in very good condition. -
