Description
This Danish table lamp, titled "Formland," was designed by Sidse Werner and Leif Alring for Fog & Mørup. Originally conceived for the Formland trade exhibition, the design features a streamlined sculptural silhouette with a vibrant red lacquered shade. A white butyrate dome sits atop the structure to provide soft, diffused illumination while maintaining the piece's clean, geometric profile.
Sidse Werner (1931–1989) was a prominent Danish architect and industrial designer known for her organic forms and functionalist approach, particularly through her long-term collaboration with Holmegaard Glassworks. Leif Alring was a Danish designer who collaborated with Werner on several influential lighting projects for Fog & Mørup during the 1970s, focusing on the integration of modern plastics and traditional metals.
The silhouette of the Formland series was influenced by the designers' shared passion for skydiving; original promotional materials featured Sidse Werner and Leif Alring jumping from a plane to emphasize the collection's aerodynamic forms and modern spirit. -
