Pair of Mid-Century Brass Wall / Table Lamps Model EV 57, Itsu 1950s

A distinctive pair of model EV 57 lamps made entirely in brass by Itsu in Finland in the 1950s. The design combines slender, angular supports with conical bulb holders and broad, curved reflectors, creating a striking balance between an open framework and sculptural forms.

The lamps can be used both as freestanding table lamps and as wall lights. Their detachable brass reflectors can be adjusted to different positions, changing both the direction of the light and the appearance of the lamps. Positioned horizontally, they provide light beneath the shades; tilted vertically, they cast a warm glow onto the surrounding wall.

Both lamps are in good original condition, with patina and surface wear consistent with age and use. The aged brass adds warmth and character to their distinctive design. A versatile pair for bedside tables, shelves or wall placement in living rooms and hallways.

Itsu was an important Finnish lighting manufacturer during the mid-20th century. Alongside Taito, Idman and Orno, the company contributed to the development of Finnish lighting design, combining practical construction with distinctive forms and careful metalwork.
