Large Organic Modern Branching Floor Lamp in Brass & Linnen, Finland 1950s
-
Description
A striking organic modern floor lamp in brass with a linen-covered shade. The sculptural stem curves upward in a fluid, almost botanical form, with budding sprout-like branches accentuating its graceful rhythm. The shade, in linen or light cardboard, evokes the shape of a delicate flower, completing the lamp’s naturalistic silhouette.
This rare and elegant piece is of likely Finnish origin and was produced by one of the high-quality manufacturers of the mid-century era. Although not documented, its craftsmanship and design language suggest connections to makers such as Valinte, Soini, or Itsu. Regardless of authorship, it stands as one of the most refined and distinctive floor lamps we have encountered.
The lamp remains in original condition with an unpolished brass surface showing a beautiful, even patina. The shade shows some wear consistent with age and use, and the wiring has been updated for modern use. -
