Description
This striking sofa was designed by Theo Ruth in 1958. This model numbered 115 was produced by Artifort in the Netherlands. The design is marked by the rounded lines of the upholstered seat and the slightly angled positioning of the seat on the frame. The seating is thick and comfortable, which is something Ruth is known for. This particular sofa is one of the earliest productions of the 115 model and still has the original Artifort label on the bottom of the frame. Later versions of this model had a completely dark lacquered wooden frame or a metal frame.
The sofa has been completely restored and fully reconditioned. It has been reupholstered in a beautiful, high quality Dedar fabric in a cloud white color with a subtle hint of grey. This warm and resistant wool bouclé is full of spontaneity and softness. The frame in solid beech wood has been reinforced and refinished. -
