A French ebonized & curved sideboard in the manner of Andre Arbus, C. 1940.
-
Description
A sculptural French sideboard, circa 1940, executed in ebonized wood with elegant bronze mounts, in the refined neoclassical style associated with André Arbus. The subtly curved front and back, and the more dramatically curve sides add a sense of movement and grace, while the bold contrast between the deep, lustrous finish and the finely cast gilt bronze hardware evokes timeless sophistication. The case with 4 doors opens to a shelved interior rests on square tapered legs terminating in shaped bronze feet.
Wonderful as a sideboard, in an office or behind a sofa for more storage and display.
Note* the back is curved so it will not fit completely flush to a wall. -
