This George Nelson for Herman Miller 8000 Series credenza features not two, but three sliding doors—a configuration so unusual we couldn't find another example online. At first, we assumed someone added a third door by mistake. Sure, the cabinet has three glide tracks, but we couldn't find another... So naturally, we had two custom sliding doors made to "fix it".

But plot twist: it wasn’t a mistake at all.

Turns out, the three-door setup is exactly how it was meant to be. With just two sliders, the middle section is basically useless—you can’t access the sliding shelf inside, let alone slide it out. Design fail. But, with all three doors? Everything functions beautifully, and the layout perfectly makes sense.

The piece bears its original silver Herman Miller medallion label, found inside the right drawer—because provenance matters. It features its original white laminate top—it’s crisp, clean, and timeless.
