Description
Dimensions: 34 ½” H x 44 ½” W x 18” D
This elegant mahogany and marble demilune console from France, 19th century, is a fantastic addition to any space, as a console or even a small serving table and bar. It is topped with an inset piece of patinated white marble, showing one crack and one repair, surrounded by a pierced brass gallery left open on the front above the drawer. The paneled apron houses a drawer in the middle, opened by a working lock and key. Two additional drawers to the left and right swing outward and share a key between them. Keyhole escutcheons are highly decorative in their romantic Louis XVI motifs, matching the rhythm of the brass trim outlining the panels. Fluted legs taper gradually to the lower shelf of gorgeous mahogany, outlined in a pierced brass gallery and offering a concave front. Brass sabot feet are the final touch to really elevate the design. This wonderful accent table has gained a charming patina over the years, including a couple cracks in the stone, so please view the detailed images for a better look at its current condition. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior. -
