French 19th Century Solid Oak Drapery Table
-
Description
A French, 19th century solid oak shop counter or work table, likely a drapery table for assembling long window treatments, it has timeless, Beaux Arts styling to make an impressive statement in any environment. The top planks are arranged with geometric precision that highlights the beauty of the wood grain. One small drawer is hidden in the apron, identified by a ring pull. Three pairs of legs in the form of square posts have been meticulously carved with the profile of Corinthian columns, lifted on a plinth base that adds storage or display area to any room. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior. Be sure to view the detailed images for the current condition: some flecks of gold paint are still visible on the work surface from this table’s previous life in service at a gilding workshop.
